Sažetak
Croatia has been going through the process of transition since the declaration of its independence. This means that the development of macroeconomic framework is characterized by cyclic trends, which characterize the most transition countries. Modern economic development trends, together with dynamic technological progress and the necessity to improve work productivity and social efficiency in general, demand structural changes in economy and modernization of the society in whole. Strengthening international competitiveness is one of the most comprehensive goals for Croatia in the next period. The main objective of this article is to give statistical aspect of economic gap between Croatia, and other transition economies, and EU.
