Sažetak
Exeptionallly hostile enviroment for doing business with which Croatian economy was faced in the first half of 1990s, had negative impact on the position of catering and tourism industry. The total number of catering and tourism companies increased in the observed period by 3, 9 times (number of large companies decreased, number of medium size companies slightly increased, but conditions were favourable for the real boom in the number of small-sized companies), while the total industry employment decreased by 36%.
