Sažetak
This study was conducted to test the difference between activation of mastocytes, eosinophils and neutrophils in sinus fluid of patients with asthma and CRS and suffering from CRS without bronchial hyperreactivity. It was conducted in a group of 17 adult asthmatic patients with CRS and 15 patients with CRS without asthma. Sinus lavage through antral puncture was taken with 5ccm of saline. Tryptase and ECP were deterimined by fluoroenzymeimmunoassay and MPO by radioimmunoassay (Pharmacia, Sweden). ECP (p<0, 0001) and MPO (p<0, 01) were significantly higher in the asthma group, while tryptase did not show significant difference between the groups.
