Sažetak
The author starts from the fact that in the past few years there have been various methods in use in Croatia to discuss forgiveness and reconciliation, and most of them are tied to the consequences of the Homeland War and there is more talk of external reconciliation between nations, cultures and faiths and less talk of forgiveness as a pre-condition to sincere reconciliation. The theme of this essay is "Forgiveness between the Burden of the Past and the Challenge of the Future", and its currency from the Croatian perspective. When I refer to the "Croatian perspective", I'm thinking of the "country that was at war" and that still today is struggling with the repercussions of the war that was imposed upon it. On the path from a "burdened past" towards a desirable future we find our "crude every day lives" that are filled with disappointment, injustice and even revenge. It is necessary to recognise that "referential framework" and to count on it if we wish to be succesful in the process of forgiveness and reconciliation in Croatia.
