Sažetak
With a rapid growth of VoIP networks there was a need for a simple signaling protocol that would be used for controlling multimedia sessions. The definition of SIP protocol is given in RFC document 2543. In this paper we will show basic SIP functions with an emphasis on the use of SIP proxy server, and the implementation of a proxy server using the finite state machine logic.
