Sažetak
In modern reality, development of knowledge is characterised by a non linear dynamic nature. Amount of worldly knowledge and technology as a consequence of this fact is expected to lead to an exponential increase. On the other hand, education has become societal mass-production. Transfer of knowledge as a basis of civilisation has grown into a life-lasting education and, therefore, another form of knowledge transfer, such as a new type of textbook, is badly needed. Now, apart from customary textbooks in the shape of book, one might run across textbooks in the hypermedia form. Hypermedia is characterised not only by mere text and images (such as those of their book equivalents). To its users, it also offers hypertextual connections, incorporated video and audio sequences, animations, interactive graphics, net telecommunications and intelligent guidance to and through the textbook documents as sources of information and knowledge. The hypermedia textbook can be adapted to any user by recognising his specific cognitive aptitude. It also provides an instantaneous choice of right strategy and of size of the textbook material.
