Sažetak
The biological treatment of wasetwater from the production of coke was carried out in a two stage process in the coke plant of Nova Hut, Ostrava, R Czeska. The parameters of the process in the first stage> temperature 28-32^oC, D.O. 0.8-1.0 mg/L, concentration of the enriched sludge by mixed culture (MC1) 0.8-1.0 g/L, HRT 15-18 hours and pH value of 7.4-8.0. After the first stage wastewater was pretreated for the process of simultaneous nitrification wit denitrification in the second stage of the process. The mixed culture of bacteria and yeasts MC1 in the first stage consists of genera> Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Flavobacterium and Trichosporon. The effluent of wastewater from the first stage had the composition (mg/L)> COD, 800-1100, phenols, 125-250, thiocyanate, 37-75, NH_4-N, 80-100 and the pH value 7.4-7.7. The parameters of the process of simultaneous nitrification with denitrification in the second stage> temperature 28-32 ^oC, D.O. 0.3-3.0 mg/L, concentration of the enriched sludge by mixed culture of nitrifiers and denitrifiers (MC2) 0.5-4.5 g/L, HRT 20-22 hours and pH value 7.4-7.7. Mixed culture of nitrifiers and denitrifiers (MC2) consists of genera> Nitrosomonas, Nitrosococcus, Nitrosovibrio, Pseudomonas, Corynebacterium, Flavobacterium and Moraxella. The effluent from the second stage depending on the source of carbon, D.O. and C>N ratios had the following composition (mg/L)> COD, 95-150, NH_4-N, 0.8-5.0, NO_3-N, 20-60 and pH value of 6.8-8.0.
