Sažetak
Traditional bank-dominated financial systems are being transformed into market-oriented systems. Financing through securities issuance has been growing in relation to the present dominant way of credit financing. Besides traditional balance securitisation of liabilities the financial innovation of off-balance asset securitisation technique is increasingly present. After it had succeeded and spread in the US in the 1980-ies and 1990-ies, this technique has been more intensively used in the EU in the last several years. Because of the benefits it brings and its impact on the financial market development it is to be expected that the asset securitisation technique will be developing in less developed, bank-oriented financial systems as well.
