Sažetak
This paper presents world topical trends in production and use natural veneers and wood-based panels. Expressive grow of wood-based panels production is evident. The world structure shows also a great changes: a plywood share decreases more and more, particle boards increase slightly, and market trend is intensive development capacity of MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) and OSB (Oriented Strand Board) panels. Europe is a typical a particleboard market which makes about 70% of the total panel consumption. Europe is also the biggest manufacturer of natural veneers, which in last few years again start to be trend, and which production grows characteristically. The biggest problem of wood-based panels is still free formaldehyde.
