Sažetak
We are now witnessing an explosive growth of wireless local and personal area networks. However, several security issues have emerged that leave these networks exposed to the world and unprotected from malicious intentions. This is especially an issue in corporate networks where secure communications are of major concern. As an effort to secure these networks, link layer security solutions such as IEEE standard for Port-Based Network Access Control, are being widely implemented. This paper discusses security issues in Bluetooth wireless technology in the context of accessing non-public and public networks. It also explores the possibilities of deploying controlled access to these networks and proposes a generic security architecture for link user-based network access control based on the Extensible Authentication Protocol.
