Sažetak
The Dinaric karst, which the analysed karst area in Croatia belongs to, spreads parallel to the coast of Adriatic Sea along the zone 50 to 150 km wide and 700 km long and comprises the following countries: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Monte Negro. For making general conclusions on the water runoff from karst basin areas in Croatia, the data from in total 80 hydrological stations working during the period from 1951 to 1995 and distributed along the basin area of about 17, 000 km2 were analysed. Due to the high values of the intensity of maximal precipitations, the maximal discharges in Croatian karst in the basin areas with no underground retention areas can be very high. On the other hand, large underground retentions in the background of particular karst springs reduce maximal discharges - the peak of hydrographs - to a large extent and significantly elongate the hydrographs of flood waves. Graphically presented relation of maximal registered specific inflows and influent basin areas indicates great dissipation of the pairs of input values, but also high values of the upper envelope curve. Particular characteristic parameters of maximal annual discharges have strong interrelations but the dissipations of input data around the relations derived are regularly high. Better relations between maximal registered specific inflows and influent basin areas can be achieved by more specific regionalisation by particular basin areas. The relation mentioned is particularly interesting in the basin area of the river Cetina (where the dam and accumulation Peru&aelig ; a are situated), in which the decrease of the influence of karst underground on the data of floods in downstream stations compared to those of upstream stations can be well observed.
