U knjizi su izneseni najnoviji podaci o prisustvu metala u čovjekovoj hrani te njihov utjecaj na zdravlje i bolest ljudi i životinja. Prof. Reilly je medjunarodno priznat ekspert za javno zdravstvo i u trećem izdanju svoje knjige sublimirao je znanje i iskustvo na podrušju zagađenja čovjekove hrane metalima za dobrobit znanstvenih istraživača i praktičnih stručnjaka iz medicine, biologije, kemije i toksikologije.
