Sažetak
This study examines the results of a program based on the community work aimed at preventing or reducing the consumption of alcohol and any other drugs (AOD)among a high-risk group of youths aged 12 to 14 through strenhthening family resilience. The program is a part of a five-year experimental project sponsored by the City Office for Health and Welfare in co-operation with the Study Centre for Social Work in Zagreb. It has been implemented in a number of local communities in rural, suburban and urban areas. The program components included in this study are: the education of parents, guardians and youths, the early intervention services and the case management services. The results show that the program had positive effects on the rehabilitation of the family. They also show the positive effects of improved family resiliance in preventing and reducing the consumption of alcohol and any other drugs among youths.
