Sažetak
Rising number of mobile devices and available services makes increasing demands on broadband wireless access. Wireless broadband access can be realized in simple and cost-effective manner through local wireless access networks. In order to provide common and wide accepted platform for application developement, access technology and transport network itself should be separated. Wireless middleware should bridge the gap between standard applications and wireless access networks. The entire system shoud be designed towards the global communication framework. This paper will consider basic requirements for wireless part of middleware, and explain its important role in 4G concept.
