Sažetak
In the petroleum engineering there are several main operations: drilling, well completion, workover, oil and natural gas production, and well stimulation (acidizing, hydraulic fracturing). During these operations a significant volume of wastes (drilling fluids, produced waters, workower and completion fluids, spent acids, produced sand, tank bottoms, separator sludge, and etc.) is generated. No matter how effective a waste management plan or waste treatment program may be, some waste will remain that must be dispose of. The paper describes current waste disposal methods, particulary subsurface injection, and disposal practice apllied in Croatia.
