Sažetak
Bluetooth is an emerging technology for wireless ad-hoc, personal area networks characterized by low power consumption, low cost and small footprint, aspiring to become a ubiquitous short-range connectivity solution. Thus, we expect multimedia applications running on Bluetooth networks to be a common, everyday scenario and we consider Quality of Service features provided by Bluetooth to be a very important issue in these scenarios. Since Bluetooth Media Access Control Layer is a Master Driven Time Division Duplex system the base line for Bluetooth QoS are the Bluetooth MAC scheduling policies. The subject of our analysis is the efficiency of Best Effort traffic in dependency of different scheduling policies. The Round Robin scheduling policy has proved to be quite inefficient so we propose a scheduling policy that would increase efficiency in terms of fairness. Through simulation we show a substantial improvement in packet delay, throughput maximization and link utilization.
