Sažetak
The aim: The aim of this study was to asses the reliability of fF as a marker of preterm delivery in group of risk pregnancies. Methods: A group of 40 pregnant women with risk for preterm delivery was included into prospective study of fF in the sample of cervical swab in the 24th, 28th and 32nd week of gestation. Fibronectine was determined by ELISA test (Adeza Biomedical), and categorized as positive (> 50 ng/ml) or negative (< 50 ng/ml). Results: 8 (20%) out of 40 tetsted women had preterm delivery (< 37 weeks). Sensitivity of positive fibronectine test was found to be low (50%) for 24th and 28th gestation weeks, with an increasing tendency (87.5%) for 32nd week. High specificity (93.7%) was detected throughout all gestation weeks studied. Positive predicitve value increases with gestation weeks from 66.7% to 77.7%. Negative predictive value was found to be high (88.2% for two first measurements vs. 96.7% for 32 gestation week measurement). Relative risk of preterm delivery according to fF increases with gestation age from 8 to 14 times in the 32nd week. Conclusion: Negative predictive value of fF concentration may help to reliably exclude the pregnancies with no risk of pretrem delivery
