Sažetak
The first and very important aspect of globalization is achieved through trade liberalization. Countries in transition have faced both aspects of liberalization (multilateral and regional) and accepted necessary requirements. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the process of trade liberalization according to the WTO rules, through European Agreement, Stabilization and Association Agreement and other free trade agreements (i.e. CEFTA). This process considers tariff reduction and elimination and also reduction in non-tariff barriers. The goal is to point out the benefits and costs of liberalization, to research impact on export and import value, FDI flows and on the customs revenue. In this context, the accent is on liberalization of trade policy in Croatia, reached level of trade liberalization and on the further steps in liberalization pointing out the influence of liberalization on economic development.
