Sažetak
This paper analyses and compares two channel reservation schemes: guard channel (GC) scheme and dedicated channel (DC) scheme. The analysis is based on modeling of the base station as appropriate queuing system in which handoff calls have priority over new calls. The comparison between GC scheme and DC scheme is made on the basisi of call dropping probability as well as provisioning of the grade of service (GoS) guarantee for handoff calls. Simulation results show that although DC scheme achieves higiher call blocking probability than GC sscheme this scheme is more suitable for provisioning GoS guarantee than GC scheme.
