Sažetak
Sugar beet harvesters perform several tasks in one pass ; they top beet with leaves, do digging, clean and load roots into the beet hopper or right onto the escorting vehicle for transportation. In Western Europe, on more than 60% of the beeet fields, sugar beet is harvested by six-row combines whose toppers and cleaners are able to adjust to different operating conditions. In its development various construction designes of the harvester's main operating machines have been noticed (toppers, diggers, cleaners and root loaders). Recently there have been efforts to improve the ergonomics of the cab and the design of the combine driver's seat. Additional computers for monitoring, guiding and operating are built in as well.
