Sažetak
Humanitarian demining can be efficient only if it is considered on an international level from political, technological and financial point of view. Upon analysis of the situation it is evident that activities have to be strengthened and accelerated. According to UN statistics, 1250 years are needed and app. 30 billion of dollars to reach 'Mine free world' with current dynamics of demining. So, for the life-support and revitalization of all form of life in places where several million of Antipersonnel Mines (APM) have been left in more than 90 countries only option is higher level of humanitarian demining technology. R&D is needed for increase of efficiency, diminution of expenditure with new methods of detection and the quality in operation that will speed up the APM clearance with no diminishing the reliability, but on the contrary, enhancing it. Challenge for the NDT community will be emphasized since NDT is a powerfull source of methods for Antipersonnel mine detectino (APMD). The list of potential technologies includes, but is not limited to Acoustic methods, Electromagnetic induction, Infrared imaging, Nuclear and Radar methods and objects to be detected are mines, unexploded and hidden dangerous objects. The strategy to istigate the goals named will be enlightened by pointing to some of the main tasks of profession as Planning and investment in methods' development, Experts' motivation and Education.
