Sažetak
After the end of WWII in 1945 and the establishment of the socialist regime, Tito’s Yugoslavia undertook the process of constructing the propaganda network. The term propaganda here assumes „the deliberate and systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions, and direct behaviour to achieve a response that furthers the desired intent of the propagandist“ (Jowet and O'Donell, 1992: 4). In this propaganda network, isk communist agitprops were distributing new ideological slogans and discursive forms via mass media, newspapers in particular. This paper aims to identify these new ideological slogans and phrases which emphasized new values and social norms of the post-war Yugoslavian society. The text corpus is the daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija of the post-war period, especially those issues published for special occasions such as the anniversary of the October Revolution, youth work actions, Tito's speeches etc. Our (linguistic) analysis of these news text will begin as a small-scale (micro-) analysis of the words, continuing further as an analysis of the sentences, and eventually evolving into a larger- scale analysis of the organization of meaning across the text as a whole, as suggested by Richardson (2007: 46).
