Sažetak
The safety of navigation is one of the most important elements of shipping, which traditionally receives the most attention. Global development in almost all fields has led to a sudden increase in the number and size of ships. Shipping represents the backbone of global transport, while anchoring is one of the usual and most frequently performed operations, which needs to be improved in technical, communication and organizational terms. This is achievable through detailed monitoring of the modern technologies development and their constant implementation in all segments of the maritime economy. In this paper, the optimization of ship’s speed adjustment was analyzed, with the aim of Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) adjustment, which, when there is a possibility, would lead to avoiding anchoring, that leads to reduction of numerous potential risks and consequences.
