Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to present the jargon of school grades in Croatian language, interpret them according to the observed aspects, explain the possible meaning of some names, and emphasize the link between the significance of school grades. obtained for students with their various lexical (and formative) forms based on the corpus as a result of the conducted research. The insufficient, sufficient and excellent school grades are incentives for the creation and use of jargon, and in the jargon of insufficient and excellent grade as the lowest and the highest marks a strong expression is noticeable. It is associated with extremely negative and extremely positive emotions among students by getting these grades. The creation of the jargon of the sufficient grade is mostly imposed by its status as a border grade between the negative and the positive part of the evaluation scale
