Sažetak
Rafael Levaković (Jastrebarsko 1597 - Zadar 1650), a Franciscan friar today mostly remembered for re-editing of Croatian Old Church Slavonic liturgical books for the purposes of spreading Catholicisma in Eastern Slavic countries, was not only a scholar, but also a poet. His poetry was occasional, mostly in Croatian, yet with one epigram composed in Ancient Greek, which has been unnoticed by Croatian public so far. It accompanied a vernacular Greek edition of the sermons on the Canticle of the Virgin Mary, written by Neophytos Rhodinos and printed in 1636. The article presents it along with a Croatian translation and a short phylological analysis, additionally trying to provide an educational and cultural context for the poetic attempt which is by no means typical for prevailingly Latin literacy of Croatia in 17th century.
