Sažetak
In 1732 Daniele Antonio Bertoli (San Daniele del Friuli, 1677 – Vienna, 1743) received the investiture of the Castle of Bribir and its port Selce, both situated some 40 kilometres to the southeast of Rijeka, accompanied by the title of Count from the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles VI (Vienna, 1685 – 1740). It was the reward for the services Bertoli rendered in the guise of the inspector and director of the Imperial Gallery, the function to which he was appointed in 1731. Daniele Antonio never visited his fiefdom, while his elder brother Gian Domenico (Mereto di Tomba, 1676 – 1763) did so in May of 1735. It is quite probable that on this occasion he donated the parish church of Bribir the painting representing Christ Washing the Disciples’ Feet by Pieter Thijs (Antwerp, 1624 – 1677) and a sumptuous gilt monstrance that could be dated at the turn of the 15th to the 16th century.
