Sažetak
In this paper we will describe the possibilities and potential of augmented reality in terms of its application in education. We will describe the gadgets used in creation of augmented reality, how they work and their prose and cones in comparison to similar devices. In the paper, two devices that will be elaborated on are Google glass and Microsoft HoloLens. Google glass was introduced to the market in 2013 and was one of the first HMD devices accessible to a wider range of users. Also, in comparison to the similar devices that were introduces to the market around the same time, Google Glass had smaller dimensions and was easier to use. One of its features is that the information is displayed in a format similar to that of a smart phone. Also the interaction is done via voice commands. Similarly, Microsoft HoloLens is a smart-glasses headset that is a cordless, self-contained Windows 10 computer. It was released in 2015 after five years of development. The device uses advanced sensors, a high-definition stereoscopic 3D optical head- mounted display as well as spatial sound to create augmented reality. Both devices have already been introduced to education and have found useful purposes. Google glass can be used as language translator for foreign students, Microsoft HoloLens can help students and teachers interact in 3D environment.
