Sažetak
U knjizi, nakon kratkih biografija autora i uvodnih napomena urednice zbornika profesorice Elsie Ivancich Dunin slijede tekstovi izlaganja. Barbara Sparti iz Italije ima dva teksta u kojima govori o moresci i mattaccinu u Italiji u razdoblju od 1450. do 1630. godine, te je prikazala analitičku i komparativnu studiju o 18stoljetnoj venecijanskoj moresci. O povijesti morris plesova u Engleskoj koji se izvode sa štapovima kao primjerima istraživanja europskih folklornih plesova piše John Forrest (Engleska/SAD). Enric Marti Moro iz Španjolske predstavio je evoluciju plesova Maura i Kršćana u Valenciji s naglaskom na povijest i okružje. Roland Baumann iz Belgije prikazao je put od ratničke igre do folklornog spektakla odnosno maurske i kršćanske izvedbe iz Španjolske unutar europske perspektive, a Sergio Bonanzinga sa Sicilije piše o izvedbama Kršćana i Maura u tradiciji Sicilije. Franko Oreb iz Hrvatske govori o izvođenju moreške u 19. i 20. stoljeću u Korčuli i izvan nje, a Grozdana Marošević, također iz Hrvatske, piše o svojim istraživanjima koja uključuju i nova otkrića u glazbi korčulanske moreške. O kostimima i scenskim karakteristikama izvedbi bojevnih mačevnih plesova kao obilježjima vremena piše Elsie Ivancich Dunin. Transkripciju i izbor materijala sa Okruglog stola pod nazivom Moreškanti: prošlost i sadašnjost za ovaj zbornik pripremila je Iva Niemčić. Tekst Okruglog stola u cijelosti je i na engleskom i na hrvatskom jeziku. I na kraju, zbornik završava s dva teksta o izložbi korčulanske moreške u Gradskom muzeju Korčule Marie Kraljević i o Festivalu viteških igara Mihajla Grgića popraćenih fotografijama. / After short autobiographies of the authors and the introductory notes of the proceedings editor Elsie Ivancich Dunin, this book contains texts of the talks given by authors. Barbara Sparti from Italy has two texts about moresca nad mattaccino in Italy in the period from 1450 to 1630, and she showed the analytical and comparative study of 18th century moresca. John Forrest writes about the history of morris dances in England, performed with sticks as an example of research of European folk dances. Enric Marti Moro from Spain presents the evolution of dances of Moors and Christians in Valetia with the emphasis on history and environment. Roland Baumann from Belgium show the development from the warrior games to folk spectacle, i.e. Moors and Christians performance from Spain within the European perspective. Sergio Bonanzinga from Sicily writes about the performances of Moors and Christians in tradition of Sicily. Franko Oreb from Croatia talks about the moreška performance in the 19th and 20th century in the Island of Korčula and outside, Grozdana Marošević also from Croatia writes about her researches that include new revelations in the music of moreska at Korčula. Elsie Ivancich Dunin writes about costumes and features of scene performances as the characteristics of specific time. Transcripts and material selection of the Round table titled Moreškanti: history and the present day for this Proceedings was prepared by Iva Niemčić. Text from the Round table is complete, both In Croatian and English language. Finally, the Proceedings end with two texts ; the exposition of moreška at Korčula in the City museum of Korčla author Marija Kraljević and the festival of knight games by Mihajlo Grgić with photographs.
