Sažetak
Passenger cars are an indispensable part of modern society, but they also have a significant impact on environment and human health. In Europe, passenger cars exhaust emissions have been regulated since 1992 with the implementation of the Euro emission standards. Since then, great improvement in exhaust emission mitigation was accomplished. However, with the latest Euro standards, discrepancy between emissions stated in type-approval and in-use emissions measured under real conditions increased, culminating with the Dieselgate scandal. To validate type-approval test, EU has adopted regulation on real driving emissions (RDE) which means evaluation of emissions of a vehicle under its normal everyday conditions. This article presents the results of the RDE tests for two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) passenger cars of a different age. First set of emission measurements were made on a brand-new vehicle with the factory-installed LPG fuel system (Dacia Duster 1.0 Tce 100 ECO G). For the second set of emission measurements a vehicle with the age of seventeen years and aftermarket LPG installation (Honda Accord 2.0 i-VTEC) was used. For each vehicle, emissions were measured for different fuels gasoline and LPG. In that way, influence of vehicle age and fuel used have been analysed and compared with the type-approved values. While recent type-approval results are in line with official RDE tests, there is a noticeable trend in the recent years that the vehicles fleet is getting older, so it is important to validate and to quantify the influence of the alteration of emissions with the vehicle age in further researches.
