Sažetak
The purpose of this research was to examine the attitude of primary school students (age 10) towards environmental protection and to increase their interest for this subject by gamification in art education using virtual game Eco Art Explorer. The game encouraged students to create good habits related to sustainable environmental practice, which was examined through action research in three steps. In first action step was examined students’ knowledge on sustainable environmental practice and their personal habits. During the second action step students played a virtual game Eco Art Explorer, and the changes in students’ habits after playing the educational game were examined in the third action step. Results of the initial questionnaire confirmed that students show a high understanding of proper waste management. They express dissatisfaction and do not remain indifferent to improperly disposed waste, but they themselves do not participate in the sorting of household waste. After playing the game, the students suggested improvements of the game and showed greater interest of proper waste management. The majority rated the game highly, the average score being 7.6 out of 10. The results of the final questionnaire show higher students’ interest for active participation in the sorting of household waste.
