Sažetak
The way in which women were represented in classical Hollywood movies is an intriguing and fascinating subject to discuss not only because of the legendary status of the movies made in the period, but also because of the immense influence that these types of portrayals have even today. The stereotypes of femme fatale, the girl next door and The Hitchcock blonde were one of the elements that marked the classical Hollywood style and became the model upon which filmmakers created their female leads for decades. These types of portrayals are a major topic in both film and feminist studies. The three types of representations of women were elaborated and discussed in this diploma paper based on the academic works, from the feminist point of view and based on analysis of the three movies in which these representations were visible. The girl next door stereotype was analyzed through the movie It`s a Wonderful Life ; the femme fatale stereotype was analyzed in the movie Kiss Me Deadly ; and the Hitchcock blonde stereotype was analyzed in the movie Vertigo.
