Sažetak
Martin Scorsese is a filmmaker who has been active in the filmmaking industry for more than half a century and still continuing with production of films. His skilfulness in the use of filming techniques and directing has resulted in being respected by the critics and other fellow filmmakers. From his beginning in the industry, he has successfully combined exploitative content with the commercial. This thesis analyzes how the concepts of violence, family and religion have shaped Scorsese as a filmmaker, and his creation of relationships between father and child figures in his films Taxi Driver (1976), GoodFellas (1990), Gangs of New York (2002), and The Departed (2006).
