Sažetak
Aluminium has been shown to be harmful to human beings when it is taken in excess. The accumulation of aluminium in the bone and brain tissue has been associated with a series of clinical disorders including encephalopathy, osteodystrophy and microtic anemia [1]. Therefore in most European countries the maximum aluminium concen-tration in drinking water and haemodialysis fluid should not exceed 200 and 10 mgml-1, respectively. The determination of aluminium in this concentration range is enabled by a new sensi-tive spectrofluorimetric method based on the reaction on N,N˘- bis(salicylidene)-2,6-pyridinediamine with Al(III) in the water/dioxan medium. The fluorescent complex formed has extraction and emission maxima at 330 and 387 nm, and quantum yield 0.4.The dependence of the emission intensity on concentration is linear up to 32 ćg ml-1.Al(III) and the detection limit is 1.3 ćg ml-1.The advantage of the proposed method is simple reagent preparation and fast attainment of complex equilibrium.
