Sažetak
One of the definitions of suspense is anxiety arising from an uncertain situation. Alfred Hitchcock was one of the best-known film directors and producers in the history of filmmaking. He was called a Master of suspense. He was the first to create many elements of the suspense and psychological thriller genres. The task of this paper was to analyze elements of suspense in his movies Psycho, Vertigo and The Birds. This study proved that with the diversity of techniques suspense can be created and thus, audience is enabled to participate in a film both as a viewer and as a character.
