Sažetak
The aim of the paper is to explore the subjects of salvation, redemption and liberation as presented in the new Directory for Catechesis, i.e., the scope and manner in which these salvific themes are presented therein, especially in the context of the New Evangelization and catechetical challenges, such as the missionary activity of the Church, dialogue with the world, religious and ecumenical dialogue, and new ecological awareness. Analysis and comparison of the concepts of salvation, divinization, redemption and liberation lead to the realization that the Directory emphasizes the positive aspect of salvation and piety, while affording less attention to that from which God saves us. Salvation is not only seen as the realization of the Kingdom of God in eternal life but also encompasses the questions of human liberation and progress, which are closely related to the stewardship of God’s creation.
