Sažetak
Willingness to take risks is often a differentiator between successful and the &#8220 ; average&#8221 ; or unsuccessful manager. In a proposed model of risk behavior Sitkin and Pablo (1992) proposed two causal mechanisms, risk propensity and risk perception as a temporal measure of willingness to take or avoid risks. This paper seeks to advance risk propensity research through an empirical study on Croatian managers. Our research shows that the Sitkin-Pablo model gives a good prediction of risk propensity in modest levels of risk propensity, but there are greater divergences in the domain of extreme small and high propensities. We believe that measurement of risk propensity can have many practical usages therefore, we propose further research on the subject.
