Sažetak
Bacillus subtilis microspheres were prepared with sodium alginate. The microspheres were prepared by the coacervation phase separation method. The preparation conditions were very gentle to avoid changes in the general biological products of the cell- containing calcium alginate microspheres, but to provide them with protection by a hydrogel matrix without preventing communication with the surrounding medium. Encapsulation of microbial spores and viable cells of a Bacillus subtilis can be satisfactorily achieved by using sodium alginate. Spore microspheres showed higher viability than vegetative microspheres.
