Sažetak
The paper first focuses on the present status of the English language in Croatia. Is English a FL, a SL, an IL, a LF, an what are the implications for teaching? Keeping the emerging new status in mind, the author then discusses the current Croatian ELT scene. Both the theoretical and practical perspectives are included. This is followed by an exploration of possible future developments and the author's suggestions for securing a better ELT future in Croatia.
