Sažetak
The paper tackles art historical perceptions of the “new trends” and challenge for the discipline after the iconic turn by confronting the conventional art historic approach of “period eye” and discussing the new theoretical frameworks regarding temporality understood as cultural framework. These questions are debated on the specific element of early medieval sculpture in Croatia - the interlace pattern.
