The lighthouse tourism has been recognized as a unique and exclusive experience, and some lighthouses and navigation aids have become destination icons and recognizable national symbols. It has also become a perfect tool for differentiation of tourist offer and expanding tourist season and destination’s attractiveness during whole year. Lighthouse tourism may contribute to attraction of tourists from both- international and national tourist market and bring a lot of benefits to different stakeholders. It may create a source of revenue for the state, open new employment possibilities for local people, increase in demand for accommodation, local transportation, food and beverage services, authentic souvenirs produced by local people etc. especially through creation of new lighthouse- related products. That is why tour operators and other travel agents use lighthouse tourism to differentiate their offer nowadays. This kind of tourism also offers wide range of possibilities in establishing international cooperation and common investments through different financial instruments and programs of support.
