Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to present the situation of English-Spanish bilinguals in the USA. The first part explains what bilingualism is and when it happens, and also why there are so many bilinguals in the USA. Furthermore, it offers an insight into language planning and language policy in the USA. The second part explains why there are so many English-Spanish bilinguals in the USA and provides an insight into their everyday life. For the purpose of this paper, a questionnaire related to the topic was conducted among 10 English-Spanish bilinguals. The participants were asked questions connected with their attitudes towards bilingualism, their education and identity. The findings are presented and related to different theoretical aspects in the continuation of the paper. The final part touches the issue of Spanglish, and shortly explains what it is, how, when it happens, and what it means to Latinos in the USA.
