Sažetak
We prove that if a nonempty Hausdorff paracompactum X is not strongly 0-dimensional and U is a Čech system for X, then U is not an approximate inverse system in the sense of Mardešić and Watanabe. This result generalizes those of its predecessors where more restrictive properties on the classes of spaces in consideration had been required.
