Sažetak
Companies face a lot of challenges in today’s market. All their resources should be optimally managed and used in order to survive in the business arena and to be successful. Employees are seen as one of the company’s core values and resources. Similarly, effective internal communication is often considered a critical and key factor that affects the company’s economic and business performance, and it is increasingly seen as a strategic management tool. Due to technology development and events such as the pandemic, communication is changing. Therefore, it is particularly important to identify the level of employee satisfaction with internal communication practices. It may be advisable and useful to identify the level of employee satisfaction with internal communication in emerging economies, where companies still pursue new practices and approaches to employees. The main goal of the paper was to determine the level of satisfaction with internal communication among employees of Croatian companies. Moreover, the paper aimed to identify the strengths and weaknesses of internal communication as well as the differences in employee satisfaction based on some of their personal or company characteristics. The study results will provide new insights into contemporary internal communication in an emerging economy such as Croatia. Based on the results, managers will be enabled to improve their communication approaches and strategies and consequently to improve the company’s economic performance.
