Sažetak
Zagreb has always been an industrial center and a place of development of industrial production and various technologies. Factories have been present in the vision of the city for generations and the consciousness of its inhabitants, who lived and worked there. The history of a factory is a review of the historical development and progress dependent on economic, political and social circumstances. Today, due to frequent transformations, it is difficult to find authentic buildings. However, the existing and modernized industrial facilities, which are still market competitive and which have retained their primary function of production and jobs, can be explored and valorized. The subject of this research is the industrial complex named the Kraš Group which has been producing confectionery products since 1911. The idea of building a factory on Ravnice began in the 1960s so the focus of the research is on the biscuit factory which was designed by architect Egon Steinmann 1964. The industrial complex has undergone many changes - additions, upgrades and new constructions next to the main factory building. In 1981, the office building was completed and renovated in 2011. In the paper, the changes are grouped into several time and development phases determined according to the most important structural and purposeful changes. The paper also presents data obtained from archival and field research of the factory history with the aim of showing the course of its construction, reconstruction and upgrading, as well as its current state.
