Sažetak
Debate is increasingly used in the classroom as a cooperative learning technique that encourages active learning, critical thinking, active listening, and other general learning outcomes. In this chapter we give examples of how some media debate forms and competitive debate forms are adapted for use in Croatian schools. Teacher education on implementing debate in the classroom is provided by the University of Zagreb through some of their courses, as well as through different programmes developed by the Croatian Debate Society and by the Forum for Freedom in Education.
