Sažetak
Texts from The Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew appear in several Croatian Glagolitic monuments. Two Glagolitic sources from the 14th and 15th century contain apocryphal fragments of pseudo-gospels in the Office of the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God. The oldest Croatian Glagolitic text which contains the text of The Gospel of Pseudo- Matthew has been preserved in The Paris Miscellany (Slave 73) from 1375, and a textually close version can be found in The Bribir Breviary from 1470. These two Croatian Glagolitic texts contain verbatim translations from the Latin original, whereas the Ljubljana Miscellany (sign. Slav. Sammlung, futural 3/368) from the second half of the 15th century contains a paraphrase of The Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew with abridgments and omissions of the original text. The surviving Croatian Glagolitic texts suggest the existence of many more Croatian Glagolitic transcripts and/or periphrases of these famous apocryphal “childhood gospels”.
