Sažetak
The Energy Committee of the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS) has been tasked with reviewing existing technologies which can be used immediately to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in seven key sectors: Food and Agriculture, Buildings and Smart Cities, Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Cement, Iron and Steel, Information and Communication technologies. The Report offers insights ; conclusions and recommendations that should be useful for leaders of industry, governments, professional organisations (especially engineering organisations), non-governmental organisations, and citizens. The report is intended to provide clarity on the complex issues of our subject: what is possible for the next 20 years, where are the difficulties in the different sectors and how to overcome them.
