Sažetak
Pediatric arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) may be congenital or acquired. Acquired AVFs can result from trauma, 1 but are mostly iatrogenic complications of vascular access. 2 They may be multiple and intramuscular because of difficult access and often multiple cannulation attempts. The reported incidence of iatrogenic AVF after cardiac catheterization in children is 0.3 per cent. 2 A retrospective review of all pediatric patients treated surgically for AVF from 2014 to 2018 in our department (tertiary referral pediatric surgical center) was conducted. Hospital database, radiological information system, and theater reports were analyzed. The institutional review board approved the study. Data on five patients were found (three boys and two girls). Patient age was three months, and eight, 10, 14, and 15 years. There were three femoral, one cubital, and one forearm AVF. Follow-up ranged from three months to four years
