Sažetak
Wheat cultivar Zitarka was grown under field conditions for three growing seasons (1992/1993, 1993/1994 and 1994/1995) on the experimental field of Belje holding (locality Bizovac, near Osijek). Experimental field is classified as hydromorfic soil of characteristics as follows: pH in H2O = 7.4; humus content = 1.73%, plant available P and K (determination by AL-method) = 21.3 mg P2O5 and 27.5 mg K2O/100 g of soil, total N = 0.22%. The field experiments were conducted in four replications with randomized block design (experimental plot of fertilization = 50m2). Eleven treatments were tested as follows: a) unfertilized plot; b) = 0 kg N + 150 kg P2O5 + 100 kg K2O/ha; c) 80 kg N + 150 kg P2O5 + 100 kg K2O/ha (in form NPK 10:30:20 and urea - incorporation in soil by tillage ); eight treatments from d to k) = c + 120 kg N/ha added by top dressings. Differences among these eight treatments were in source of nitrogen (AN=ammonium nitrate, CAN=calcium ammonium nitrate, UAN=urea ammonium nitrate and U=urea) and their distributions (two dressings in three leaf stage and tillering: 60 + 60 kg N/ha; inclusion of the third dressing in shooting stage: 30 + 60 + 30 kg N/ha). Mean grain yields of wheat were 5.05 t/ha, 6.14 t/ha and 5.12 t/ha, for the first, the second and the third year of testing, respectively. Unfertilized plots yielded 3.54 t/ha and those of P and K fertilization 3.59 t/ha (three-year means), while application of 80 kg N/ha prior to sowing increased yield by 33% (4.74 t/ha) in comparison with mean of two N unfertilized treatments. By additional application of 120 kg N/ha with dressings, grain yields increased by 26% (mean 5.99 t/ha) in comparison with 80 kg N/ha application. However, in the individual years of testing, these increases were 48%, 38% and 0%, respectively. Concerning the source of N applied, it was found also specific response of wheat depending on the growing season. In purpose of finding more reliable conclusions, these investigations will be continued under different environmental conditions (soil types).
