Sažetak
As described by the World Health Organization, child health is a state of physical, mental, intellectual, social, and emotional well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. The need for better treatments and advanced therapeutic innovation for infants, children, and adolescents is universally acknowledged. Children are not able to achieve optimal health alone. They are dependent upon adults in their family and community to ensure that they grow in a healthy milieu. Enabling the exchange of experiences and the sharing of best practices is a key factor in responding effectively to the growing challenges of our society, such as the increasing incidence and prevalence of chronic diseases. The mission of the Euro-pean Paediatric Association-Union of National EuropeanPaediatric Societies and Associations includes encouragingeducation of patients, families, and caregivers by sharingspecialist knowledge with generalists, and promotingactivities aimed at improving the quality of pediatric patientcare in all European countries through excellent clinicalresearch and the implementation of research into practice.
